When it comes to B.C. Hockey League experience, Mitch Meek has it in abundance.
In four seasons with three teams he's played 145 regular season games and 34 playoff games.
Meek, a 19-year-old right-shooting defenceman, became the newest member of the Prince George Spruce Kings on Thursday when the Kings acquired him in a three-way deal which also involved the West Kelowna Warriors and Vernon Vipers.
The six-foot, 200-pound native of Victoria was first traded by Vernon to West Kelowna for 20-year-old defenceman Mackenzie Bauer, then sent to Prince George.
In return, the Kings gave the Warriors the rights to 20-year-old forward Luke Harrison.
"Mitch is a veteran BCHL player with almost 150 games played," said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes, in a team release.
"He is a top-tier defenceman in our league who will come in here and play in all situations and provide tremendous leadership.
"He joins a strong group of defenceman that will be the backbone of our team this season."
Meek began his BCHL career with a three-game stint with Cowichan Valley Capitals in 2011-12 and joined the Victoria Grizzlies the following season. After two full seasons with the Grizzlies he was sent to the Vipers six games into the 2014-15 season.
Last season, Meek totaled six goals and 11 assists in 56 regular season games split between Victoria and Vernon and finished with 38 penalty minutes. He also collected two assists in 11 playoff games with the Vipers.
Meek has signed a commitment to join NCAA Division 1 Clarkson University for the 2016-17 season.
