The 24-year-old from Prince George re-signed with the Flyers as a restricted free agent, a one-year, two-way deal announced Wednesday by Flyers general manager Ron Hextall.

The six-foot-one, 195-pound Manning, who played for the Prince George Spruce Kings in 2007-08 before moving on to a four-year WHL career in Chilliiwack, played last season for the Flyers' AHL farm team in Adirondack, N.Y. He led all Phantoms defencemen in scoring with eight goals and 23 assists for 31 points and also topped the team list in penalty minutes with 231.

In 184 games for the Phantoms over the past three seasons he collected 20 goals and 71 points. He was an AHL all-star in 2013. Manning signed his first contract with the Flyers in November 2010.

The son of Paula and Leroy Manning played four games for the Flyers in 2011-12 and was called up for six games during the 2012-13 season, during which he collected two assists.
