There will be one more occupied seat at the discussion table when the Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association gathers on Sunday for the league's annual general meeting.

The Mackenzie Lumberjacks have announced their intention to form a team this season, bringing the league membership up to six teams.

The Lumberjacks will join four Prince George teams -- Westwood Pub Devils, BX Pub Bandits, Northland Nissan Assault and Cowboy Ranch Stylers -- and the Quesnel Crossfire. Mackenzie has not had a senior team since 2013, when the Lumberjacks folded after three seasons in the PGSLA

Each team will play 15 games this season, up from last year's 12-game schedule. The league schedule opens its 26th season, April 25 at the Coliseum.

The AGM is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Treasure Cove Casino show lounge. The league will hold its annual midget draft at the meeting.

Also on the agenda for the meeting are the elections for league executive positions. Glen "Moose" Scott, who has held the post as league commissioner since it formed in 1990 said he will let his name stand for reelection.

There will also be a discussion about a revised playoff format which would reduce the number of games. The opening semifinal rounds would be best-of-three series instead of best-of-five, while the final would be reduced two games to become a best-of-five affair.

In other news, the Prince George Masters Lacrosse Association will host a skills clinic for novice- to midget-aged players on Saturday, April 16 at Kin 2 and 3.
