For the first time ever, a Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association playoff game will be contested outside the city limits when the College Heights Pub Assault take on the Mackenzie Lumberjacks in an 8 p.m. game.

The Assault lead the best-of-five series 1-0 after defeating the expansion Lumberjacks 14-4 Tuesday night at Kin 1. Clarke Anderson led the College Heights cause with six goals and one assists, and Dave Jenkins collected three goals and eight assists. Trent Poulin countered with a pair of goals for Mackenzie.

Game 3 of that series will be played Saturday at 8 p.m. at Kin 1.

Meanwhile, in the other semifinal, the BX Pub Bandits took on the injury-riddled Shooters Pub Devils Wednesday night at Kin 1 to try to tighten their grip on the series. The Bandits took Game 1 Monday by a 14-4 count. Mike Engbrecht led the way for the Bandits with three goals and six assists, while Brett Doig totalled three goals and five assists and Jared Rossi finished with three goals and five assists. Jordan Zacharuk had three goals and three assists for the Devils, while Tony Degans scored twice.

The Devils were missing 12 regulars from their lineup Monday, including Scott Anderson (knee and rib injuries), Dave Bennett (knee), Jarome Lamarre (shoulder), Phil Michel (shoulder)Kyle Adams (shoulder), Blake McIntosh (coaching minor lacrosse) and Brett Domenis (work commitments).

Results from Wednesday's game were not available at press time.
