A Prince George midget spring hockey team won the silver medal at the Anaheim Jr. Ducks Memorial Shoot Out Monday in southern California.
The team, known as Team B.C., suffered a 1-0 loss to the Jr. Kings in Monday's final.
The Jr. Kings scored the game's only goal at the 3:29 mark of the second period and held on for the win. Goaltender Matthew Ens swept aside 22 of 23 shots in Team B.C.'s losing cause.
Prince George, coached by Randy Potskin and Ryan Howse, advanced to the final after it edged Totem Totem 3-2 in Sunday's semifinal. Clint Sam and Braeden Young scored Prince George's first two goals and the game was knotted at 2-2 until Young notched the winner at the 12:58 mark of the third period.
B.C. posted a 2-1 round-robin record with victories against the Summerhawks-Mendez (7-0) and the California Wave (4-1). The loss came against the Jr. Kings, a 2-1 decision on Saturday.
