There was no surprise upsets Friday on the women's soccer pitch.

The second-seed Lo-Bar Log Transport/Tillmanns and third-seed Westcana Electric booked a date with each other for Tuesday's semifinal in Prince George Women's Soccer Association play. Lo-Bar Transport edged Eden Spas 3-1, while Westcana romped over Alfredo's/HSJ Lawyers 6-0.

In the game between Low-Bar and Eden Spas, both teams were playing with the minimum players.

"It was hard, nobody had any subs," said Lo-Bar's Kelly Johansen. "You had to play smart in order to last the whole game out there."

Johansen, a forward, broke a 1-1 draw early in the second half before teammate Tracie Skelly gave Lo-Bar a two-goal cushion. The scramble around the net on Skelly's goal also injured Eden Spas keeper Rachel Wolitski, knocking her out of the game.

"It was a nice pass from one of our mids, Cindy Lewis, she just popped it up to the front line and it was a sharp angle shot off my left foot," said Johansen about her goal.

After some deliberation, Eden Spas decided to play on, putting one of its defenders in goal for the reminder of the match. Wolitski's injury inspired Eden Spas, who took the play to Lo-Bar as they fought to tie the game, but were unable to get a decent shot on net. Eventually, fatigue took over and both sides looked grateful when the final whistle blew.

Lo-Bar finished the regular season with 18 wins and two draws, while Eden Spas had seven wins, four draws and nine losses.

Eden Spas had a quick start when Sarah Wolitski gave them an early 1-0 advantage, but Mandy Dunkley tied the game for Lo-Bar before the end of the first half.

Rachel Wolitski said it was disappointing to see the outdoor season end, but Eden Spas had a good one.

"We did really good; we have a strong team and these guys work very hard," said Wolitski. "We had a lot of good players come back and had some good pickups this year. We're happy, but we're done and it's over. Now we move on to indoor."

On the adjacent field at the women's soccer pitch, Westcana had a pair of goals from Jen Kaeb and Gen Mager as they eliminated Alfredo's 6-0.

Thursday, CNC Continuing Education punched its ticket to the semifinal with a 5-1 win ovetr Myatovic Construction, while Central Mohawk outlasted Universal Restoration 2-1 in a shootout.

On Monday, in group one action, Accelerated Physio plays Design Logic, while Brotto Holdings takes on RGS Electric at 6 p.m.

Lo-Bar and Westcana play Tuesday in the group two semifinal, while CNC and Design Logic face off in the other semi. Both games are at 6 p.m.
