The Chilliwack Chiefs stole two points in a Friday night home game against the Prince George Spruce Kings.
In the B.C. Hockey League contest, the Chiefs prevailed 3-2 in overtime. They tied the score at 19:09 of the third period on a power-play goal by Spencer Graboski and then got the game-winner -- also on a power play -- from Philip Zielonka at 2:49 of the first overtime session.
The Chiefs led 1-0 after the first period on a marker by Graboski. Lyndon Martell notched an equalizer at 7:17 of the second while the Kings were on a power play. Half way through the third, Coltyn Hansen gave Prince George the lead with a short-handed, unassisted marker.
The Chiefs outshot the Spruce Kings 39-36. Mitch Gillam picked up the win for Chilliwack and Kirk Thompson took the loss. Thompson, however, was outstanding and was chosen as the game's first star.
The Chiefs improved to 24-11-1-1 and the Kings, in picking up a single point, slipped to 18-12-1-7.
The Spruce Kings will take on the Coquitlam Express tonight.
