Lavanna Laass battled to a pair of medals at the Ontario Open judo tournament on the weekend.
Laass, who trains at the Hart Judo Academy, earned bronze on Saturday and silver on Sunday. The first day, Laass was competing in the U-21 women's under-63-kilogram class. The second day, she was on the mats in the senior women's under-63kg group.
Meanwhile, Kyle Wilkinson of the Prince George Judo Club finished the tournament off the medal podium but did compile a 3-2 record. Wilkinson was in the U-18 under-60kg boys division.
The Ontario Open was held in Whitby.
