After a several smoky days in city last week forced the Prince George Kodiaks into indoor hibernation at the Northern Sport Centre, the Kodiaks are back on home turf at Masich Place Stadium to resume training camp.
With the season opener only 10 days away, the Kodiaks will get into game mode tonight at 6 p.m. when they play their Black and Gold scrimmage intrasquad game.
This is a free event, a chance for local football fans to check out the team under new coach Jamie Boreham and catch a preview of what’s in store for the Kodiaks as they prepare for their second season in the B.C. Football Conference.
"It's time to get back outside and put our development into action,” said Boreham. “This scrimmage is an opportunity for our players to earn starting roles, and a great chance for the community to see us on the field.”
The Kodiaks will host the defending national champion Okanagan Sun on Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m. at Masich.
Season tickets are available online at ticketsnorth.ca.
The team will be selling Kodiaks merchandise at tonight’s scrimmage.
