With a 10-7 loss to Newfoundland and Labrador on Thursday morning, Patti Knezevic's Team B.C. rink guaranteed itself a last-place finish at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

And the result comes with a penalty for next year's B.C. representative, which will be relegated to the qualification round of the 2016 national women's curling championship. In that play-in group, B.C. will be joined by teams from the Yukon and the Northwest Territories, which were eliminated in this year's qualifier. Nunavut will also be part of the qualification round if it enters a team.

In Thursday morning's game in Moose Jaw, Knezevic had a 7-6 lead after eight ends but gave up a deuce in the ninth and a steal of two in the 10th for the final result.

B.C. dropped to 1-9. Newfoundland and Labrador, skipped by Heather Strong, improved to 4-6.

The Knezevic rink will play its last game at the Scotties tonight against Nova Scotia (4-6).

Team Knezevic includes third Kristen Fewster, second Jen Rusnell and lead Rhonda Camozzi.
