The Prince George Spruce Kings have added a defenceman with RBC Cup experience on his resume.
Bradley Ryan was acquired Tuesday from the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in exchange for Adam Fares and future considerations. Fares was picked up from the Trail Smoke Eaters a couple weeks ago.
Ryan, at six-foot-five, 205 pounds, heads into his 20-year-old season after having played three years for the Blades. In 131 regular-season games, Ryan accumulated four goals, 48 assists and 212 penalty minutes. He has played in 47 post-season games including the 2010 Royal Bank Cup in Dauphin, Man.
Mike Hawes, Kings general manager, said he was thrilled to pick up Ryan.
"He's a big skilled player who will play big minutes for us while providing leadership on and off the ice," said Hawes.
The Mississauga product has developed a reputation as one of the most consistent defenders in the OJHL. Ryan will attend his first British Columbia Hockey League training camp when the Kings' camp gets underway Aug. 24 at the Prince George Coliseum.
