For the second straight night the Prince George Spruce Kings gave up the opening goal but then scored four unanswered to earn another 4-1 road win.
Michael Colantone had two goals and a helper for the Kings in Saturday's game against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks while Jujhar Kharia had two assists. The win moved the Kings (30-18-2-4) within two points of the second-place Merritt Centennials (30-17-2-6) as the British Columbia Hockey League rivals battle for home-ice advantage in the playoffs.
The Kings are six points ahead of the Chilliwack Chiefs (28-21-1-3) and nine points ahead of the Vernon Vipers (27-25-1-2).
Morgan Zulinick gave the Silverbacks a 1-0 lead after the first period but Kings' goaltender Ty Swabb shut the door to collect the 24-save win.
Chase Golightly and Gerry Fitzgerald had the other goals for Prince George. BCHL scoring leader Paul De Jersey had an assist, giving him 92 points (40 goals, 52 assists).
Prince George concludes the three-game road swing Sunday afternoon in Penticton (48-3-0-2) as the Vees look for their 38th consecutive victory. The Vees had a scare in Merritt on Saturday night barely snagging win No. 37 with a come-from-behind 2-1 overtime victory.
