Prince George Spruce Kings winger Tanner Campbell is back on the scoring wagon again and his second goal of the game Friday night at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena stole a point away from the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
Campbell combined with linemates Jarod Hovde and Kyle Johnson to score the equalizer 7:24 into the third period in what ended up a 2-2 B.C. Hockey League tie.
Campbell, acquired at the trade deadline from the west Kelowna Warriors, opened the scoring with the only goal of the first period, in front of a crowd of 1,524 on minor hockey night.
The Bulldogs answered with pair of quick goals early in the second period. Nathan Dingmann and Ryan Finnigan each found ways to beat Spruce Kings goalie Joseph McLeod.
But beyond Campbell's second of the night, neither team could score.
McLeod and Bulldogs goalie Brody Claeys each made 31 saves.
The tie left the Bulldogs (20-27-3-4) fifth in the Island Division, one point behind the Victoria Grizzlies for the fourth and final playoff spot. The Spruce Kings' record improved to 12-38-4-2, fifth in the Mainland Division.
