The Prince George Spruce Kings will open the 2012-13 B.C. Hockey League season against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs in March.
The Kings will face the Merritt Centennials Sept. 8 in Chilliwack, host city for the inaugural BCHL Showcase. The showcase will see each team play two games that will count in the regular-season standings.
When the Kings last saw the Cents, they were on the wrong end of a four-game playoff sweep.
Also at the showcase, the Kings will take on the Langley Rivermen. That game is scheduled for Sept. 9.
The BCHL, which held its annual general meeting in Richmond on the weekend, released the showcase schedule on Monday.
