After a heartbreaking loss in Chilliwack on Friday the Prince George Spruce Kings will try to start a new win streak tonight against the red-hot Penticton Vees.

The Kings (19-14-2-3) lost 4-3 after the Chiefs (20-14-0-2) scored two goals in 22 seconds late in the third period, snapping a four-game win streak for Prince George. Tonight the Kings visit the South Okanagan Events Centre where they'll attempt to end the Vees (34-3-0-2) 21-game win streak, dating back to Nov. 5 and including Friday's 9-2 thrashing of the Langley Rivermen.

The loss to the Chiefs closes the gap from three to one point as the Kings try to hold onto third place in the Interior Conference.

Paul De Jersey extended his point streak to 21 games with a third-period goal to tie the game at 2-2, while his linemates Michael Colantone and Jujhar Khaira had the assists to push their own streaks to five games.

Myles Fitzgerald had a pair of goals for the Kings with assists from brother Leo.

David Thompson and David Bondra each had power-play goals for the Chiefs, while Derek Huisman potted the winner. Michael Spring gave the Chiefs a 2-1 lead early in the third period.

The Kings fired 42 shots at Chiefs goaltender Bryton Udy, while Ty Swabb took the loss for the Kings stopping 30 shots.
