The Prince George Spruce Kings gave up four goals in the final 21 minutes of play, but hung on to defeat the West Kelowna Warriors 7-4 Tuesday night at the Coliseum.

Jake LeBrun and Cole Todd each scored a pair of goals to lead the Kings past the Warriors.

Prince George skated out to a 5-0 lead which they held until late in the second period.

That's when the Warriors, led by a pair of goals by Liam Blackburn, went into action and narrowed the lead to 5-4 until Jeremiah Luedtke and Raymond Grewal scored on an empty net late in the third period to secure the win.

With the win, the Kings snapped a two-game losing streak and jumped back into first place in the BCHL's Mainland Division at 15-10-0-2 and 32 points.

The Warriors remain in second place in the Interior Division at 13-7-0-5, second place in Interior Division with 31 points.

The third period was a goal-scoring showcase for the Warriors.

The Warriors scored two goals in less than 90 seconds to start the third period to narrow Prince George's lead to 5-3.

With his family from Prince George watching in the stands the Warriors leading scorer Blackburn notched his second of the game, while Brett Minnear tallied the third goal.

Blackburn notched his 12th of the season with 30 seconds left in the second period to put the Warriors on the board.

LeBrun gave the Kings a 5-0 lead with just under two minutes left in the second period with his second goal of the game.

The Kings 19-year-old forward Todd scored two goals five minutes apart in the second period to give Prince George a 4-0 lead.

Five minutes into the second period, LeBrun took the puck from Marco Ballarin near centre ice and skated down the left side of the boards to score his 11th goal of the season with a wrist shot.

The Spruce Kings host the Coquitlam Express Friday and Saturday at the Coliseum (7 p.m).

The Express are in fourth place in the division with a record of 9-13-1-4 and 23 points.

Loose pucks: the Kings were without a trio of 20-year-old forwards Tuesday. Justin Rai (upper body), Chad Staley (lower body) and Jarryd Leung (upper body) remained out of the lineup after injuries they suffered last week against Chilliwack and Alberni Valley. In their place were affiliate players Stephen Egan and Austin Turner from the 100 Mile House Wranglers, and Colton Thomas of the Cariboo Cougars.
