Defenceman Adam Clements scored the winner to help lead the Prince George Spruce Kings to a 4-3 victory over the host Trail Smoke Eaters Friday night.
It was the Smoke Eaters' third-straight loss who now fall to 8-8-0 and last place in the Interior Division.
Meanwhile, the Kings improve to 11-6-0-2 and 24 points to remain in first place in the Mainland Division.
Prince George now has a three-point cushion in the division after the Langley Rivermen edged the second-place Chilliwack Chiefs 3-2.
Friday in Trail, forward Jarryd Leung, acquired by Prince George from the Powell River Kings in a trade on Oct. 28, scored a pair of goals, including one on the power play, to give Prince George a 2-1 lead after the first period.
Charlie Zuccarini tied the game for the Smokies in the second period.
Defenceman Raymond Grewal scored his second goal of the season in the third period to break a 2-2 tie.
Jake Lucchini tied the game up before Clements scored unassisted to secure the victory for the Kings.
Prince George travels to Merritt tonight for a contest against the Centennials, followed by a visit to West Kelowna to take on the Warriors on Sunday.
The Kings return to the Coliseum for a three-game home stand that begins Wednesday (7 p.m.) when they host the Vernon Vipers. The Surrey Eagles are in town Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14 and 15. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
