Kings add forward depth with inter-league trade

In an effort to add more offensive punch their lineup the Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired forward Liam Board from the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

In an effort to add more offensive punch their lineup the Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired forward Liam Board from the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The 19 year old potted 17 goals (35 points) in his rookie season with the Blades playing in 43 regular-season games, while adding a pair of goals in 11 playoff games.

Kings general manager Mike Hawes said the acquisition of the six foot, 185 pound Board should help fill some of the offensive holes for the Kings with the loss of several scorers to NCAA programs.

"He will be a big addition to our lineup next season as he is a solid two way player that can provide leadership on and off the ice," said Hawes.

In exchange for Board the Kings have sent forward Patrick Chore and future considerations to the Blades.

In 37 regular-season games with the Kings, Chore picked up four assists.

Board will be in Prince George when the Kings begin their main training camp at the Prince George Coliseum, Aug. 24.
