Shelby Jansen just missed the podium in the 300-metre final at the Legion youth national track and field championships in Langley on the weekend.
The 15-year-old, who trains with Prince George's Athletics North, missed a medal by one-tenth of a second to finish fourth and set a new personal best time.
Her Athletics North teammate, Ryan Gaiesky, 15, was ninth in the youth boys 300m hurdles, missing the final by two-tenths of a second.
Prince George Track and Field Club athletes also set PBs in Langley.
Alex Nemethy, a 17-year-old from Vanderhoof, shaved nearly 20 seconds off his previous personal best to place ninth in the 3,000m race. He was also eighth in the 2,000m steeplechase.
Cole Dinsdale, 16, finished 10th in the 2,000m steeplechase, setting a new personal best in the process.
Lindsay King, 14, placed 13th in a strong field in under-16 girls 200m hurdles in her first national event.
The Legion youth nationals wrapped up the competitive outdoor season for both clubs.
