'It's incredible'

Landry excited about possibility of competing in Games

Madison Landry is just shy of her 12th birthday, but in five years she will be just the right age to play ringette in the Canada Winter Games.

Landry's mind started racing when she learned at school Friday morning Prince George has won the right to host the 2015 Canada Winter Games. She and her friend Callie Swan, a speed skater, were discussing the possibilities of what it would be like to play in their hometown Games.

"I thought it was great that we're going to be hosting it, it's incredible," said Landry, a Grade 7 student at College Heights elementary school who starts her fourth ringette season next month. "It's awesome that everyone in Prince George can go to see it and be there for it. It does give me a little bit of hope that I could be playing in it. I'd be pretty excited about that."
