The Prince George Spruce Kings have added skilled American forward Corey Hoffman to their roster for the 2015-16 B.C. Hockey League season.
Hoffman, five-foot-nine and 165 pounds, hails from Syosset, N.Y., and played last season for the Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League. With the Jackalopes, he had 10 goals and 32 points in 34 games. His on-ice abilities have already earned him a scholarship to Cornell University, where he will play NCAA Division 1 hockey with the Big Red in 2016-17.
Cornell is located in Ithaca, N.Y.
"Corey is a very talented player who will step into our lineup and inject some speed, skill and offensive ability," said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. "He is also a tremendous young man who will fit in well with our group. He will have some talented forwards to play with, returning from last year's team, which will help him develop and prepare for college hockey."
Hoffman will arrive in Prince George in the middle of August and will attend the Kings' main training camp, which starts on Aug. 24.
