The Prince George high school basketball association has teamed up with the University of Northern British Columbia athletics to form the P.G. High School Basketball League.
The league began play Dec. 7 and will have games every Wednesday until the city finals Feb. 15 at the Northern Sport Centre.
The league consists of teams from: D.P. Todd, Cedars Christian, Kelly Road, Duchess Park, Prince George Secondary and College Heights schools.
In the first week, the Cedars Eagles girls earned a 68-59 win over the D.P. Todd Trojans. Scores for the senior boys' game and games between Kelly Road versus Duchess Park and PGSS versus College Heights were unavailable. Kelly Road only fields a senior girls team.
Next Wednesday, the Trojans are at College Heights, Duchess Park is at Cedars and PGSS are at Kelly Road. The boys play at 6:15 p.m. with the girls tipping off at 8:15 p.m.
