Yes, Kevin Grigg did see a moose. Two of them, in fact.
The sighting was one highlight of his day. The other was winning the Mad Moose Marathon in a record time of three hours 12 minutes 51 seconds. In the Sunday race -- which followed the Greenway Trail from the Otway Nordic Centre to UNBC and back again -- Grigg finished well ahead of the second- and third-place runners, John Hagen (3:25:45) and Reid Roberts (3:33:19).
The 29-year-old Grigg also held the previous record, a clocking of 3:15:47, which he established during the inaugural Mad Moose in 2007.
