Tara Green returned from the Women's Pro Am in California last weekend with a third-place finish overall to add to her power-lifting collection of hardware.
Green set personal best in each of her lifts, while squatting 227.5 kilos (501 pounds), benching 125 kilos (275 pounds) and deadlifting 170 kilos (375 pounds).
In the multiply lightweight class (under 75 kilograms) Green placed second to Laura Phelps - credited as being one of the strongest powerlifter's ever. The only other women to score higher than Green was Dana Shealey, in the heavyweight category.
The Xconditioning team, which Green competes with, plans to take part in the GPC Canadian Nations in Calgary in 2012. Green said she'd like to compete at the Western Canadian Strongman/woman Championships, but has no definite plans yet.
"For the next couple of months I'm going to just focus on maintaining my strength, while correcting muscle imbalances and working on other weaknesses," said Green in an email.
