The Vancouver Giants answered a lucky bounce for the Prince George Cougars with two quick goals and beat the Cats 5-2 Tuesday night at the Pacific Coliseum.

With the Giants in a 2-0 lead in the first period, Prince George's Sena Acolatse shot the puck in from centre ice and watched it bounce off defenceman Neil Manning and behind Vancouver goalie Mark Segal.

Immediately after Acolatse brought the score to 2-1, the Giants got goals from Joel Rogers and Brendan Rowinski and were back in control.

James Dobrowolski of the Cats scored the only goal of the second period, and Vancouver's Michael Burns completed the scoring in the third.

Brendan Gallagher and Manning had the other goals for the Giants.

The Cougars will be in Chilliwack on Wednesday to play the Bruins.
