Fred and Jack continued to pull off feats of incredible strength at the 2014 Canadian Western Agribition winter fair in Regina.

The heavy horse team from Prince George claimed second-place honours for their efforts in the arena Wednesday, dragging an 11,5090-pound load over a distance of 30 inches. The team owned by world champion and Canadian record holder Dennis Weinberger of Cochrane, Alta., captured top honours, pulling the same weight 111 inches.

"We knew we were in tough and didn't know where we'd wind up but Fred came on strong in the second half of the pull as it got heavier and it was incredible," said Fred and Jack owner Zane Pickering, who had teamster Delbert Dillman holding the reins for Wednesday's pull.

"That's quite something else for that team, being only seven months old. Dennis's team is three years old and they are well-schooled. He came over and congratulated us; he was quite stunned we placed where we did."

The Pickering team was the only B.C. entry in the event.

Fred and Jack will travel to Denver for the National Western Draft Horse Show,. Jan. 20.
