The Northland Dodge Cougars can now claim top spot in the B.C. Hockey Female Midget AAA League for themselves.
The Cougars swept the Fraser Valley Phantom in a three-game series at Kin 1 on the weekend to improve to 10-2 with 20 points, good for first place.
The Phantom fell to 7-5 and third place. The West Coast Avalanche moved into second spot and are one point behind the Cougars with a 9-2-1 record.
Going into the series, the Cougars and Phantom were tied with 7-2 records.
Kelsey Roberts earned the shutout in the Cougars net in Sunday morning's 2-0 victory.
The Cats outshot the Phantom 56-18 as Taylor Beck and Madison Fjellstrom each scored and Hunter Mosher picked up assists on both goals.
On Saturday, Beck led the way with a pair of goals and an assist in a 6-1 victory. Sage Desjardins, Mosher and Marissa Nichol each had a goal and two assists, while Ava Keis had a goal and an assist. Fjellstrom and Jocelyn Forrest finished the game with one assist each.
Emilie Nichols picked up the win in net for the Cougars, sweeping aside 16 of 17 shots. Prince George fired 36 shots on the Phantom netminder.
The Cougars opened the series with a 5-3 victory Friday. In that game, Desjardins buried two goals while Keis had a goal and an assist. Beck and Grace Barlow got on the scoreboard with a goal each.
Forrest, Sydney Jordan, Mosher, Chantelle Beadman-Rolph, Cassidy Mellott and Kenna Lloyd each had an assist.
The Cougars outshot the Phantom 34-16 and netminder Roberts earned the win in the crease.
The Cats are taking the weekend off and will resume play Oct. 31 in Campbell River against the 5-5-2 Vancouver Island Hurricanes.
