Ryan Hill did not act on his own when he used his hockey stick to attack Solomon McCann of the Quesnel Millionaires during a stoppage in play in a game at CN Centre on Feb. 24, 2007.

Now, more than three years later, the former Prince George Spruce Kings defenceman says he was not acting alone.

Hill says he was simply following his coach's orders to retaliate for McCann's open-ice hit a few minutes earlier on Jeff Forsythe, the Kings star defenceman, who was left with a season-ending knee injury.
