It'll be an all-Canadian battle in the 2012 World Junior A Challenge semifinal today.
Canada West will face off against Canada East at 3:30 p.m. PST (game can be viewed online at www.hockeycanada.ca under the junior A challenge schedule/results link) in the second semifinal game. The early semifinal pits the United States against Switzerland.
Canada West and the United States earned their berths in the semifinal by finishing with 2-0 records in their respective pools while Switzerland beat Russia 4-1 and Canada East beat the Czech Republic 4-0 in Thursday's quarterfinals.
Prince George's Seb Lloyd had a goal for Canada West in its 4-3 overtime win Wednesday over Russia to earn the semifinal berth. Lloyd a member of the B.C. Hockey League's West Kelowna Warriors is the lone player from Prince George on a team consisting of players from Manitoba west.
The semifinal losers will face each other in Saturday's bronze-medal game (3:30 p.m. PST) while the winners will play for gold Sunday, 3:30 p.m. PST.
Canada West is the defending champion having captured gold last year in Langley.
