Devils too hot for their senior lacrosse opponents

The Devils beat the Riverstone Pub/Regional Security Stylers 15-8 on Saturday night and felled the Mackenzie Lumberjacks 10-7 on Sunday.

In the Saturday contest, the Devils were led offensively by Blake McIntosh, who scored six goals and added two assists. Sobhnik Manhas fired three goals for Shooters, while Phil Michel and Brock Paciejewski contributed two each. Scott Anderson and Adam Wagner provided singles. Mike Quarin responded with five goals and three helpers for the Stylers, while Morgan Bloom (2) and Mike Padalec also scored.

On Sunday, the Devils got hat tricks from McIntosh and Michel. Their other goals came off the sticks of Paciejewski, Tony Degans, Brett Domenis and midget call-up Mark Reimer. Chad Gratton and Kenny Barwise each scored twice for the Lumberjacks, while Craig Jones had one goal and three assists. Kyle Pacheco and Lucas Roberts rounded out the scoring for Mackenzie.

In another game played Saturday night, the College Heights Pub Assault defeated the Lumberjacks 7-3. Nathanael McFadyen and Chad Martin each scored twice for the winners and Martin also chipped in with two assists. Tom Makowsky, Nick Aubichon and Cam Kilbreath were the other Assault goalscorers. Barwise, Pacheco and Cody Clarke gave the Lumberjacks their offence. Mackenzie is a first-year club in the PGSLA.

All games were played at the Coliseum.

Next action in the league is Tuesday, when the BX Pub Bandits take on the Stylers. Game time is 8 p.m. at Kin 1.
