The Prince George Spruce Kings saw Saturday night's game escape them in the second period when the Trail Smoke Eaters scored four goals, eventually leading to a 6-3 final in favour of the Smokies at Cominco Arena.

Prince George remains searching for their first win of a three-game road trip after losing to the Bucks in Cranbrook 4-3 Friday night. Despite the loss, Prince George still wins the season series against Trail 3-2 after Saturday served as the fifth and final regular-season meeting between the two teams.

Trail forced PG into a goaltender carousel as Aidan Feddema and Jordan Fairlie both were put into action, with both goalies being pulled in exchange for the other. Feddema allowed four goals on 25 shots while Fairlie allowed two on 11 shots.

Ty Gagno opened the scoring in the first period; Kilian McGregor-Bennett scored on the power-play, and Amran Bhabra scored from just inside the blue line to round out the Spruce Kings' scorers.

Playing on a short-handed team due to injuries, the Smoke Eaters found the scoring touch out of Ethan Mann who scored twice before leaving with an undisclosed injury, Connor Seeley, Adam Marshall, Nicholas Remissong, and Brady Hunter. Hunter's goal marked his 100th point in the BCHL.

Prince George heads to the Salmon Arm on Sunday to wrap up their weekend road trip with a meeting against the Silverbacks.
