Dribblers and lay-up specialists are wanted as Prince George Minor Basketball has extended their registration deadline.
The new deadline to sign up to learn and to play basketball from November to February is this Friday (Oct. 28).
For $135 participants receive two hours of basketball - an hour of practice and an hour game - each week.
Craig Douglas, board member with PGMB, said for the second straight year numbers are down, especially with the introductory Grade 3 and 4 ages. On Monday there were 28 boys and girls signed up for the introductory class.
Douglas said it would be nice to have enough students to make four teams with enough players so they didn't have to play the whole game on the floor.
"We don't want to go down to two teams, because that means there will be too many players not getting enough playing time," said Douglas.
There are teams from Grade 3 up to Grade 8 for boys and girls.
The introductory teams play at elementary schools in Prince George, while the older
students play at the Northern Sport
Centre.
