The puck drops tonight on the Prince George Cougars' exhibition season.
The Cats are in Port Coquitlam to face the Vancouver Giants starting at 7 p.m. in the first of four preseason games this month.
They’ll also face off Saturday night at the same rink against the Victoria Royals.
The Cougars still have 32 players on the roster, 13 of whom are returning to the team.
That list of returnees includes one goalie (Ty Young), five defencemen (Bauer Dumanski, Ephram McNutt, Viliam Kmec, Hudson Thornton, Keaton Dowhaniuk) and seven forwards (Arjun Bawa, Koehn Ziemmer, Cayden Glover, Zac Funk, Carlin Dezainde, Odrej Becher, Riley Heidt).
Thornton and Funk, both born in 2003, are the 20-year-old overagers.
Mark Lamb is beginning his fifth full season as head coach of the Cats, with help from assistant coaches Carter Rigby and Jim Playfair. Playfair replaces Josh Dixon, now coaching at the University of Guelph.
The Cougars wrap up the preseason next weekend when they visit Grande Cache for a two-game set against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
Their 30th season in Prince George for the Cougars starts Friday, Sept. 22 when they host the Tr-City Americans at CN Centre.
Tickets are available through the Tickets North website or at the CN Centre box office.
