The Prince George Cougars fell 5-1 to the Vancouver Giants Friday at Pacific Coliseum.

Devon Fordyce started the game in the Cougars' net, ending Drew Owsley's consecutive start streak at 11 Western Hockey League games, but after giving up four goals on 20 shots Owsley was back in net to start the third period. In 20 minutes of action the 20 year old faced 13 Giants' shots.

The loss leaves the Cougars (13-22-0-2) in ninth place in the Western Conference, two points behind the Victoria Royals (13-22-2-2) for the final playoff spot. The Royals fell 7-6 to the Portland Winterhawks in Friday's action.

In his first game with the Rebels on Thursday, Inglis was held pointless.

The Cougars best period of offence came in the second frame when they fired 11 shots at Giants' goalie Adam Morrison who stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced.

Both teams were 0-for-6 on the power play.

The Cougars are in Kamloops for a New Year's Day game with the Blazers before returning home for a doubleheader against Kamloops at CN Centre on Jan. 7 and 8.
