Drew Owsley posted his second shutout of the Western Hockey League season Saturday as the Prince George Cougars beat the Regina Pats 2-0.
The 20-year-old goaltender stopped 18 shots at the Brandt Centre where 3,026 fans watched as the visiting Cougars halted a two-game losing streak. Owsley blanked the Kamloops Blazers 1-0 in the first game of the season.
Jordan Tkatch and Taylor Thompson scored 53 seconds apart in the third period to lift the Cougars to the win. For Tkatch, 16, it extends a four game goal-scoring streak, while Thompson's power-play goal was his second of the season.
Matt Hewitt faced 26 shots in the Pats' net - 13 in the final frame.
With the win the Cougars (3-3-0-1) even their record on a seven-game road trip through the East Division at 2-2, while the Pats (5-2) continue to sit on top in the Eastern Conference.
The win evens the Cougars record at 2-2 as they continue their seven-game road trip on Thanksgiving Day in Moose Jaw where they'll take on the Warriors (4-2). Game time is 11 a.m. in British Columbia.
