The College Heights Cougars and Duchess Park Condors are taking aim at a provincial volleyball title this week.
The third-ranked Cougars and fourth-ranked Condors are in Parksville for the B.C. high school triple-A senior girls championship. Round-robin action begins Thursday in the 16-team tournament hosted by Ballenas secondary, followed by playoffs.
College Heights is in Pool C and will battle fifth-ranked Vernon, ninth-ranked Ballenas and 15th-ranked Windsor.
The Condors will take on sixth-ranked Seaquam, 10th-ranked Little Flower Academy and 16th-ranked South Kamloops.
The Cedars Christian Eagles are competing at the single-A senior girls championship this week in Kelowna. The 10th-ranked Eagles are in Pool C for round-robin, and will go up against ninth-ranked Duncan Christian, a wildcard and 12th-ranked Fernie.
Host Immaculata is the number one seed.
The D.P. Todd Trojans are in Mill Bay on Vancouver Island for the double-A seniors girls championship hosted by Brentwood College.
The fourth-ranked Trojans are in Pool D and battle sixth-ranked Surrey Christian, 10th-ranked Brentwood and 16th-ranked Smithers.
Prince George is also well-represented on the senior boys side at provincials.
D.P. Todd and College Heights are competing in the double-A senior boys championship, while PGSS will battle on the triple-A side.
Both tournaments are in Langley at the Langley Events Centre.
The seventh-ranked Trojans and the eighth-ranked Cougars find themselves in the same round-robin pool and will duke it out with Surrey Christian and Langley Christian in the 16-team tournament today.
The 20th-ranked PGSS Polars will go up against David Thompson, North Peace and Steveston London in their round-robin pool.
Playoffs begin Thursday with the championship finals on Saturday.
