By the slimmest of margins, the Duchess Park Condors came out on the short end of the stick at the double-A high school girls soccer championship in Vancouver.
The Condors started the 16-team tournament Thursday with a 1-1 tie with Valleyview, then suffered three consecutive one-goal losses which took them out of contention for the title.
Duchess Park ended on a winning note Saturday, defeating Smithers 2-0 to finish 15th overall.
A 3-2 loss to Crofton House in a playoff match Friday dropped the Condors into the bottom rung of the playoff rounds. Earlier in the tournament, Duchess Park fell 1-0 to Seycove and 3-2 to Brookswood.
Brooks of Powell River won the double-A banner, defeating Seycove 2-1 in the gold-medal final. St. Michael's University claimed bronze with a 3-0 win over Windsor.
