In the hockey business, first impressions sometimes carry a lot of weight.
In his first home game at CN Centre Friday night, defenceman Sena Acolatse made sure he gave fans of the Prince George Cougars something to talk about
Playing his fifth game since joining the Cougars in a trade Oct. 4 from Saskatoon, the 20-year-old from Edmonton ignited a stagnant Cats' offence and turned gamebreaker while setting up three consecutive goals in a come-from-behind 5-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders.
Acolatse's pass from the corner to an unguarded Brett Connolly was his third assist of the night. That gave the Cougars the lead 58 seconds into the third period and they never looked back.
"It felt good, it's our first home win (this season) and we couldn't have done it in a better way -- we needed this game to get over .500 and everyone was ready to play," said Acolatse.
"I like to jump into the play whenever I can, not trying to be too risky, but when I get the chance I try to jump up as much as I can. It was key we ended this game with a solid finish because third periods have been a problem for us and we knew what we had to do."
