It was the College Heights Cougars junior A boys volleyball team emerging with the championship Saturday when they beat their crosstown rival to recapture the trophy at their own tournament.
The Cougars downed the D.P. Todd Trojans in the final of the CHSS Junior Boys Volleyball Spooktacular Invitational in a pair of tightly contested sets, 27-25, 26-24, to take the title.
There was no bronze medal game so the Duchess Park Condors had to settle for being tied for third place with Prince Rupert's Charles Hays Makers. There was a four-way tie for fifth place between the Condors junior B team, the Cedar Christian Eagles. the PGSS Polars and the Cougars junior B team.
The Grade 8s from CHSS and the Eagles junior B teams tied for ninth place.
On Nov. 9-10 the junior A boys teams will face off in the North-Central zone championship at Duchess Park to determine which team will head to the provincial championship.
