The College Heights Cougars are seeded second in their pool following preliminary-round matches Wednesday at the double-A boys provincial volleyball championship in Langley.

The Cougars won two of three matches in Day 1 of the tournament, while the D.P. Todd Trojans went 0-3 in their seeding matches. For the Cougars, ranked eighth in the province, the win over the seventh-ranked Trojans avenged a four-set loss to D.P. Todd two weekends ago in the North Central zone final.

Today in Abbotsford, the fourth-seeded Cedars Christian Eagles will be on the court to play top-seeded Abbotsford Christian. The Eagles also play No. 10 Carver and No. 5 Centennial today. On Friday they face seventh-seeded Vernon.

Prince George senior girls teams also begin their provincial title quests today.

The third-ranked College Heights Cougars and fourth-ranked Duchess Park Condors are in Parksville for the B.C. high school triple-A senior girls championship.
