The Coast Inn of the North midget Tier 1 Cougars played three games in 24 hours and skated away with three wins against their Okanagan rivals on the weekend.

In Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association league games, the Cats beat Kelowna 3-1 Saturday morning, then defeated Vernon 5-3 in Vernon later that evening. Sunday afternoon they edged Vernon 3-2.

The weekend began with a scoreless 0-0 draw in Kelowna Friday night. Austin Crossley was named the game star.

Goalie Jamie Ferguson was selected the game star in Game 2, the 3-1 victory in Kelowna.

In Vernon, defenceman Jarin Sutton was the game star in Saturday night's contest, while Carl Ewert, an affiliate player called up from the Tier 2 midget team, was the game star Sunday afternoon.

"They were all close games," said Cougars head coach Rob Millar. "It was a good, solid weekend and we had contributions from the whole team. We had a couple injuries and some of our d-men aren't 100 per cent so we rested a couple of them. With three games in 24 hours, it was a tough weekend.

The midget Cats are in Kelowna this weekend again for a tournament.
