The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is sending off a trio of Team B.C. athletes with a mixed cross-country and biathlon patrol event at the Otway Nordic Centre on Saturday at noon.
Leah Forsdick, Arthur Roots and Sarah Beaudry were all selected for the B.C. team at the Canadian National Biathlon championship in Valcartier, Que., from March 14 to 18. The athletes will take part in three events including the individual competition Thursday, the sprint competition Saturday, March 17 and the pursuit on Sunday.
After the sendoff celebration at Otway the CNSC biathletes will try to teach the sport to their parents and other interested individuals before letting them try the full event. Saturday also marks the final race of the season.
After next weekend's biathlon competition in Quebec, Beaudry will remain in La Belle Province to participate in the cross-country national competition being held at Mont-Sante-Anne from March 18 to 25.
