The Otway Challenge is go for takeoff as scheduled on Sunday, Aug. 29 at Otway Nordic Centre.
A surge of online entrants the past two weeks to 29 mountain bike racers (for the six-hour enduro) and 20 runners (for the 10-kilometre off-road trail race) has saved the event, which was in jeopardy due to low registration.
The run starts at 8 a.m., two hours before the start of the enduro.
A kids run/bike enduro is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 28.
