The Cedars Christian Eagles ended the single-A senior girls provincial championship Saturday with a win and loss to place 14th.

The North-Central zone champions easily swept the tournament host Chetwynd Cavaliers 25-20, 15-10 on their practice court at UNBC Northern Sport Centre gymnasium before falling to the Campbell River Christian Cougars. The Cavaliers proved hospitable hosts as they didn't win a match, finishing 16th overall.

The top four positions were: Kelowna Christian Knights, Highroad Christian Knights, Imaculata Secondary Mustangs, Richmond Christian Eagles.

In the fifth-place game, the Northwest zone champion Houston Christian Wildcats slipped past the White Rock Warriors 2-1 (23-25, 25-21 and 15-10). Ruth Hamblin, the Wildcat's six-foot-six middle blocker helped ice the win with four big kills in the final set.

The 17 year old was named a second-team all-star at the tournament in only his second year playing high-school volleyball. Two weeks ago, Hamblin signed a letter of intent to play basketball with NCAA Division I Oregon State for the 2012-2013 season.
