The Prince George Cougars goal-scoring - and losing - woes continue.

The Cats fell 2-1 to the Kelowna Rockets Wednesday night in a battle for fourth place in the B.C. Division. The loss dropped Prince George to 3-10-1 and lifted the Rockets to 4-8-1 on the year.

The return of forward Charles Inglis, dressing for the Cats for the first time after serving a 10-game suspension he received in Oct. 1, was not enough to bolster the Cougars despite providing the assist to Jarrett Fontaine at 9:06 of the third period that pulled the squad to within one. Inglis has scored in each of the four games he's played this season; the marker was Fontaine's second of the year.

Shane McColgan opened the scoring for the Rockets halfway through the first period after taking a nifty drop pass from Colton Sissons.

After a scoreless second period, the Rockets' Myles Bell one-timed a pass from Cody Chikie on the powerplay past Cats netminder Drew Owsley. The P.G. goaltender stopped 15.

The Cats outshot the Rockets 29-17.

The Cats had to deal with winger Troy Bourke being thrown out of the game for boarding. They were also missing a Martin Marinicin.

GIANTS CLUB COUGARS

Cougars head coach Dean Clark pulled Owsley 20 minutes into the Cat's 6-2 loss to the Vancouver Giants on Tuesday.

Vancouver led that game 3-0 after the first period.

Fontaine put the Cougars on the board in the second period with an assist from Jake Mykitiuk.

Less than a minute after Fontaine's one-time, the Cat's Martin Marincin took an interference penalty at centre ice which sparked a full line brawl.

Jesse Forsberg, Troy Bourke and Marincin were all kicked out of the game.

Overall the two teams combined for over 180 minutes in penalties throughout the game.

The Giants boosted their lead to 5-1 following the fracas. In the third Campbell Elynuik scored his first goal under the Prince George banner after picking up a rebound from Josh Smith.

The Cats failed to score on six power plays and were outshot 29-24 by the Giants.
