Cariboo Cats flush out Royals

Seven was lucky for the Cariboo Cougars in Victoria. The Cougars received goals from seven different scorers in a 7-0 thumping of the South Island Royals on Saturday at the Save On Foods Memorial arena.

The Cougars received goals from seven different scorers in a 7-0 thumping of the South Island Royals on Saturday at the Save On Foods Memorial arena.

Brad Morrison started things off for the Cougars with a power-play marker. The Cougars also received goals from Tre Potskin, Braiden Epp, Kenny Nordstrom, Liam Blackburn, Eli Jarvis and Riley Pettit. Blackburn and Epp each had three-point games. The Cougars were 3-for-3 on the power play.

Nathan Warren had the shutout in the Cougars' net.

The win improved the Cougars record to 14-3-0 in the B.C. Major Midget League while the Royals dropped to 6-8-5.

The two teams meet again Sunday, 10 a.m., before the Cougars begin their journey home from the island.
