Butcher's bill costly for Spruce Kings

Gage Torrel gave the Rivermen a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal 2:51 into the second period and the they added to the total at the 12:23 mark when Dante Hahn beat Spruce Kings goalie Alex Brooks-Potts. Jordan Low drew the Kings to within a goal late in the period with an unassisted effort.

Evan Anderson and Butcher put the game out of reach with third-period goals. Chad Staley collected the other Kings goal, his 11th of the season, which left him tied with linemate Justin Rai for the team lead. Rai assisted on Staley's goal, his 24th point, topping the list of Spruce Kings.

Langley outshot the Kings 37-25. Bo Didur picked up the win in the Rivermen nets.

Langley finished 1-for-4 on the power play while the Spruce Kings went 1-for-6.

The win improved Langley's third-place BCHL Mainland Division record to 6-4-1-3. The Spruce Kings remained first in the division with a 10-6-0-2 record.

The Kings split their two-game road trip, having beaten the Coquitlam Express 3-2 on Wednesday. They'll return to Prince George to prepare for their a trip next week to Trail, Merritt and West Kelowna. Their next game at the Coliseum is set for Wednesday, Nov. 12 against Vernon.
