Beaudry shoots up eight spots at Olympic Youth Games

Prince George biathlete Sarah Beaudry finished in 14th position in the 7.5 kilometre pursuit event Monday despite starting with a handicap of two minute and 22 seconds off the lead after a 22nd place finish in the six kilometre sprint on Day 1 of the inaugural Olympic Youth Games in Seefeld, Austria.

In the 7.5 km pursuit Beaudry was solid on her skis and only had two misses in 20 shots in four bouts of shoots and five laps of the 1.5 km course. On Day 1 Beaudry missed two prone and two standing targets, hitting six of 10. Beaudry's time on the 1.5 km course was 19:49.9.

The Canadian biathlon team have a couple days off to recover and visit Italy to watch a World Cup ski event, before competing in the mixed relay Thursday.
