Sarah Beaudry skied to a 40th-place finish in the women's 10-kilometre pursuit at the World Junior Biathlon championships Sunday in Minsk, Belarus.
The 20-year-old from Prince George's Caledonia Nordic Ski Club missed six of her 20 shots and clocked 33 minutes, 38.5 seconds, 5:40.2 behind winner Marie Heinrick of Germany.
Galina Vishnevskaya of Kazakhstan won the silver medal and Yuliya Zhuravok of Ukraine won the bronze medal.
Saturday in the 7.5km sprint, Beaudry started 48th, but moved up 10 spots to finish 38th overall, posting a time of 23:12.6. Missing only three shots in two rounds on the range, Beaudry was 2:32 behind winner Lena Arnaud of France who went clean on the range.
Vishnevskaya won the silver medal, followed by Chloe Chevalier of France with the bronze.
In the junior women 12.5km individual race Thursday, Beaudry finished 15th, clocking 41:14.8, 3:20.7 behind winner Zhuravok from Ukraine. Beaudry only missed three shots on the range, one each on her last three rounds.
Kinga Mitoraj of Poland won the silver medal, followed by Vishnevskaya with the bronze medal.
