A pair of games between the Prince George Spruce Kings and Salmon Arm Silverbacks slated to happen in Burns Lake have been postponed a year over COVID-19 safety concerns.
The BCHL announced the decision to reschedule the Road Show  event in Burns Lake on Tuesday. The games were scheduled to take place Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 at the Tom Forsyth Memorial Arena in Burns Lake, located approximately 230 kilometres west of Prince George.
“We are extremely disappointed to have to postpone this event,” BCHL commissioner Chris Hebb said in a press release. “The community of Burns Lake and the Lake Babine Nation have been so supportive since day one. Unfortunately, the league and the host committee came to the difficult decision to postpone the event to next year in order to give Burns Lake the full Road Show experience. We look forward to hosting a great event next season.”
Instead of playing in Burns Lake, the Spruce Kings will host the Silverbacks on Feb. 25 and Feb. 26 at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena in Prince George.
The BCHL Road Show will return to Burns Lake during the 2022-23 season next year, a statement by the BCHL said.
